Hello everyone,
Welcome to week 12!
There have been delays getting the information from the teams I need to finish setting up the rotations for Spartan so I will send a separate email with rotations once the final teams get me the info I need.
Week 11 Recap:
Everyone who competed at the dual meet against Janesville Parker did AMAZING! Our competitors earned us our season high team scores for Varsity and JV, with team scores of 128.425 and 106.25, respectively! On Wednesday, we put the energy out there that we wanted a 128.0 and we got it!
Some highlights from Thursday:
Sofia G joined the 9.0 club on beam with a 9.025!
Emma competed her round off back tuck on floor with NO SPOT!
Becca competed her vault with NO SPOT - TWICE!
Niylah successfully competed all three of her tumbling passes on floor.
Finja got her new PR on floor with an 8.35.
Sofia D competed her strug on floor for the first time.
Sofia G competed her front layout full on floor for the first time.
Kylie got her PR on floor with a 6.1.
Natalie earned her first No Fall star of the season!
Grace got her PR on bars with a 5.9.
Amelia got her PR on bars with a 6.90 AND beam with a 7.2.
Kennedy got her PR on bars with a 6.1.
Sierra got her PR on floor with an 8.2.
In total, our athletes earned 5 No Fall Stars on beam and 11 Sticky Feets for stuck landings!
Some highlights from Saturday:
Our Future Spartans meet + open gym was a HUGE success! We had a great turn out and the kiddos LOVED getting their posters signed by the big kids.
All our gymnasts did an excellent job coaching the little kids. I had a parent reach out afterwards who wanted me to share her thanks to our girls for helping coach her kindergarten daughter. They went home and purchased a green leotard and she has her poster hanging up and she can't wait to be a Memorial gymnast someday.

Spartan Invite:
In case you haven't signed up for Spartan Invite time slots or donations for the hospitality room, please do so!
An exciting change this year! We had a team drop out last minute from Spartan, leaving us with an empty spot. We are allowed to compete additional gymnasts in this spot so we will, for the first time ever, have our JV squad competing as their own team. When working out the lineup, I removed any Varsity athlete from the pool for JV. I then ordered the remaining gymnasts by average score to build their line up.
This results in the following line ups:

It's important to note that we don't typically do this but in the absence of a team, we are allowed to do this and I thought it would be fun. We will talk more at practice about this this week.
For rotations, here is how we will rotate:

The schedule for the day is below:
8:15 AM: Girls Arrive at School
9:00 AM: General warm ups and stretching
9:45 AM: March In
10:00 AM: Round 1 warm up begins
10:10 AM: Round 1 competition begins
10:40 AM: Competition starts (we will compete in the order of vault, bars, beam, floor). There are 10 rounds total and I plan for each round to take approximately 40 minutes
5:00 PM: Awards ceremony
5:30 PM: Clean up gym (required for everyone).
It is required that everyone from the team stay and help clean up afterwards. Once the gym is somewhat tossed back together, I will release the kiddos.
Parents - please be patient again with pick up times as it can be challenging for me to give an exact time kids should be picked up.
When our team is not competing, I will work to assign our kids to different spots in the gym to help out with score flashing, etc. This is why getting as much help as possible from parents, friends and family is needed.
Jason's Deli Ordering:
We will have Jason's Deli as an option for our dual and for Spartan Invite. Please order by Wednesday night and/or Friday night.
Spaghetti Dinner:
Our spaghetti dinner this week will be Monday at 7:00 PM hosted by the Jones again. The address is 2333 Talc Trail, Madison, WI.

Thank you everyone for your help and support with everything this week. Spartan is a LOT of work but it's so worth it. It is the pride and joy of Memorial gymnastics and a favorite meet for so many teams.
Cheers,
